I'm curious if you know anything about the Network-State movement by Balaji Srinivasan. It started with the launch of the book "The Network State: How to create a new country". I'm wondering this because this aligns with Balaji's thesis. There is no answer for the collective who can't 'Exit' but he still is pushing this idea and formalizing the phenomenon you described

AI summary - "The ultimate tension of the Network State is this: it uses the tools of the "tech overlords" to try and escape the "state overlords".By treating countries like competing tech companies and citizens like consumer-subscribers, it doesn't actually defeat the techno-aristocracy—it officially hands them the crown. It turns the tech overlords into the literal landlords and sovereigns of your physical reality. Instead of checking the power of the tech elites over our lives, the Network State formalizes it."
